| If you just tried to install
ODB (Organizers Database) and you got a message saying some
'database drivers' were missing, then ODB may have brought you to
this page! (If you have not yet completed the download of ODB, please see this page instead.) Just follow these simple steps to obtain and install database support: 1) (affects WinXP or Win2000 or Windows NT computers only) Make sure you are logged into your computer as the "Administrator" or as a user that has the power to install software. (If your computer is Windows95 or Windows98 you can ignore this step.) 2) Click here to begin the download. 3) Within 10 seconds, your computer should ask you if you want to "save the file to disk". Say yes. If your computer hangs or shows garbage at this step, then you probably will have to click on the above link using your right mouse button and choose "Save link as..." or "Save target as..." from the menu. 4) At this point, most computers will bring up what is called a "file dialog box" asking you to choose a location to save the downloaded file. If your computer gets to this step, it's a good idea to choose a location you will be able to find later, such as your desktop. 5) After about 8 minutes via
modem (or faster via high-speed internet) the download will complete. A
file called "odbsupp" should appear in the location you selected in step
3. Open up what you downloaded (double click on it, or choose open
if asked) and follow the instructions. 6) When the installation program has completed, restart ODB by clicking on the Organizers Database icon on your desktop. If you can get through all 4 steps of the Setup wizard, and the ODB main screen appears, then database support is installed. Otherwise, keep reading.
In some cases it is possible to fix this problem by determining which files have incorrect dates, and then "moving them out of the way" so that the database installer will install the correct files. This should be attempted only by an experienced computer technician, or with the assistance of an ODB support technician (assuming that you have signed up for support). Please be advised that modifications to the files listed below can interfere with the proper operation of your computer. So if your "technician" is not sure please have them email us before making modifications, to ensure that nothing will go wrong. The files in question are
located in your Windows System folder, except for the files
beginning with DAO, which will be located at:
