Spanish TranslationODB 1.0 ships with a language file that will translate almost all of the fixed buttons and labels in the software into Spanish. The language file is named espanol.txt and is located in the 'languages' folder within the main folder where the ODB software is installed. There is a button in the Admin area labeled "Save/Load Language" which will save the current button text out, or read in a custom button text. An ODB administrator may install a custom language file that will load whenever ODB starts up, just by renaming the language file to 'localize.txt' There is much additional localization work to do with ODB; initially we will be creating additional code, modeled on the GNU Gettext functions, to enable the creation of language files for the non-button text used by the ODB software. This is principally the 360 or so dialog boxes that appear in the software. Finally, after a port of ODB to another development platform, we will then create additional translations of ODB in non-ANSI languages. ODB thanks the Josai International University for supporting our Unicode Localisation Effort. |
