zip lookup

Just moved ODB to a new computer and the zip lookup doesn't work anymore. I have the .mdb file but cannot find a way to load it locally. I tried to download a new file from the server and let the automatic feature do its thing, but I am getting an "unable to connect to the server Error 4" message.

Big data entry job looming and could sure use this aid.

Any help?

A firewall is preventing you from connecting via FTP to obtain the zip code file. If you can obtain the file zipcodes.mdb from your previous computer, just stick it in the folder where your data (or your program) is located and things should work. If not, respond in the forum and I will tell you an alternate method.

p.s. temporarily disabling the firewall also may work in this case if you have the permissions needed to do that.

I'm having difficulty with the zip code file. Running Vista, ODB v 1.1. RC8. When I click "Download Zip Code File" and choose either "Database" or "odb.exe" I get the error message "Unable to connect to the server. Error code is 2."

I'm probably just doing something wrong but I can't figure out what it is.
