Does anyone know what success ODB users in the UK have had customising input fields, eg. Alpha Numeric Post Codes instead of ZIP Codes and £ instead of $.
I am sorry but there is no 'currency symbol' setting.
Please log into http://mantis.organizersdb.org and suggest it as a setting and we can add this to the todo list.
FYI we just got a nice Italian translation file which will be added to the next ODB version ... so we are making some progress here.
I tried the sample DB and also created a Custom DB. They exhibited the following: -
Field Descriptions for currency (eg. Last pmt and Ask Amt) showed the $ sign but after entering a payment amount the data in the fields shows the £ symbol (eg. £5.00). I guess this comes from my UK settings in WindowsXP.
The State field only permits two letters so a redesign for UK county names would be necessery (eg. Dorset).
The behaviour of the ZIP field is strange. It accepted alpha charas (eg. BH17 8QJ) but only if separated accross the two fields ie. BH17-8QJ and only after entering the second half twice. The first time the 8 was trimed off the 8QJ.
Thank you for your attention to my comments but I have to say I think it would be too great a job for me adapt other fields (Cons, SRC, etc.) to the use I had in mind, that of a membership and volunteer database for the local charity I help.
