The Prison Book Project (western MA) distributes books to tens of thousands of incarcerated people nationally. ODB is used to track prospective donors and manage volunteers. The group has no paid staff, so the free ODB was perfect.

Reading is a powerful tool for inmates, especially for those in a high-security prison, because they spend most of the day in their cell. Reading books increases vocabulary, challenges self concept, encourages reflection and it has the power to benefit society in the long run.
