Upgrade Stories Wanted!

Guess what: the ODB user community has grown by leaps and bounds! There are now over 250 registered users on this web site!

We are wondering if you might share how your upgrade process went if you have upgraded from 0.9 to 1.0 recently. We want to make a running list of the groups who have made the jump, and eventually get all of the 0.9.x users onto 1.0.

To share, just click on "add a comment" below.

Here's a list of folks who upgraded from 0.9 to 1.0

Here's a small list of the folks making the jump that we know of:

- Center for Voting and Democracy
- Communication for Social Change
- Community Action Agency of Somerville
- Food Bank of Northeast Georgia
- Hartford Chorale
- Interfaith Hospitality Network of Athens
- Laurie Stillman for School Committee
- Mass. Advocates for Children
- Mass Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health
- Mass Peace Action
- Network for Peace Through Dialogue
- Niagara Arts & Cultural Center
- Northern Virginia Mennonite Church.
- Our Bodies Ourselves
- Peace through Interamerican Community Action
- South Orange County Democratic Club
- Triangle Rails to Trails

Smooth upgrade

The upgrade process went well for us and I'm GLAD we did it! We use ODB for contact information only. We especially appreciate that we can categorize people in so many different ways. Several features in 1.0 make it extremely useful for us. One is massupdate. We can enter a group of people--like people who attend a training and ask to be on our mailing list. Then we can apply the same coding to all of them at a time. This is helpful because sometimes, halfway through entering a list of names, I realize that different tracking codes would be more useful than what I started entering.

List of 1.0 upgraders

Has anyone else upgraded from 0.9 to 1.0? We would like to add your name to the list above. Please reply on this forum or send an email to odb2006 <at> oc-tech.org. Thanks!!

upgrade

Sorry for the late response, but I just noticed this thread. Patrick Murphy for Congress made the upgrade, too.

Fortunately, this is a rare issue for ODB users. But it is solvable, so we have created a new ODB technical tip with pointers on what to do to avoid this problem, or fix it if you detect it.
